As a lifetime democrat this makes me very frustrated and sad. I have begun and will continue to vote different due to the democrats stance on this subject.

What are the Democrats reasoning behind denying coverage for Detransitioners? This makes absolutely zero sense. It’s a pure evil stance to take.

The Democrats have become a party of sheeple. They will never risk taking a nuanced position on the issue of detransitioners. They know they would be mobbed by TRAs who view detransitioners as an inconvenient truth, and they lack the spine to push back, even on such an obviously humane point. Explaining to their constituents why they supported this bill would require that they expose the very thing the TRAs work so hard to hide: the fact that young people are cavalierly given botched surgeries and toxic hormones without benefit of therapy, change their minds, and then have to live with permanent injuries and loss of function for the rest of their lives because the doctors won't touch them.

Such a vote, if it had occurred, would have represented a sea change in Democratic politics, given how "all in" the party is on the trans issue. But the Dems, once the party of the First Amendment, no long act as individuals. There's no intra-party debate on the issues, at least none that the public is privy to. The sickening photo of Democrats celebrating their "win" is really a portrait of ideological cowards who are relieved that they saved their own sorry asses for one more day.

Signed,

Formerly Lifelong Democrat (age 71)

The existence of detransitioners is living testimony to the lies in the narrative that medical transition is perfectly safe. Their existence creates unbearable cognitive dissonance. Like how the existence of the vaccine injured exposes the lies in "safe and effective, anyone who questions this is ignorant and cruel" narrative that holds up the vaccine religion - supported by the exact same captured media, medical orgs, progressive orgs, "fact checking" arbiters of truth (really gaslighting) like Newsguard. The same entities and the same piles of bullshit they stand on, using manipulation of compassion to pretend to protect the vulnerable while really inflicting so much harm that they scramble to make sure that harm never is taken seriously.

And some people mean well, but believe these lies so fully that they can't process the reality of having ben misled. . .

They don't care about what they claim to care about. They care about themselves and their adult political powers to control others.

Children are an afterthought. Children can go into the meat grinder. And they'll lick their chops while they hold the trauma kit out of reach so no one can help put the children back together again.

Corinna, thank you for continuing to fight for the health and welfare of young people and women. You're a role model and an inspiration.

It seems obvious that there’s a group of people whose goal it is to increase the number of transgender people in the world, at any cost. These are the people who recruit/brainwash teenagers on Tumblr, TikTok, Reddit, and YouTube, who spread the narratives that if you’ve ever felt uncomfortable with yourself or awkward socially, it means you’re transgender and transitioning will solve those problems, that if you’re “cishet” you’re an oppressive person, that parents will kick you out of the house for being trans so you need to separate yourself from them, that detransitioners were either lying about being trans for attention or have now been brainwashed into denying their true selves. All of these narratives are clearly designed to manipulate and trap young people into transition.

It’s hard to imagine why even those who are very supportive of trans people would actually support attempts to trap people in their transitions. Are they overtly admitting that their goal is to increase the number of trans people by any means? These are our lawmakers?!

This of course raises the question of what is driving this goal. My guess is that it’s an intersection of interests that have found an unlikely common goal. It includes people who have a financial interest in medical transitions, pedophiles and sex traffickers who see a pool of easy victims, the subset of transitioners who are driven by misogyny who hope to gain political power and power over and sexual access to biological women, people hoping to incite a communist revolution in western democracies, foreign agents hoping to destroy the economies and democratic governments of western nations, people hoping to secure future voters for a political party, and people who are ideologically driven by a desire to reduce the population. This alliance of interests is very powerful and very successful in their recruitment efforts.

I’m sorry. But democrats really are an evil party.

The Democrats are the ones who should be sorry.

They should be sorry. But they never will be

No, they never will be. Instead, years in the future, when (and if) this debacle of transmedical corruption has ended, the Democrats will take credit for stamping it out.

We wouldn’t be in this position at all without the Republicans. The two party system is what traps people between the Scylla and Charybdis of two extremist parties and both parties are equally responsible. If Republicans hadn’t been chipping doggedly away at the feminist movement since the 1980’s Feminism wouldn’t have ended up so weak and feeble that it could get infected by the blight of gender identity ideology.

It’s that meme that says:

Republicans: Women are biologically evolved to do the dishes

Democrats: anyone who likes doing the dishes is a woman.

Feminists, LGB people, and Anti-Sexists: actually anyone can do the dishes and unpleasant daily household tasks should probably be distributed fairly between the family members.

Also if Repubs hadn’t tried to socially ostracize gay people so badly, there wouldn’t be this huge overcorrection into wildly supporting anyone who tacks their letter onto the LGBTQIA2S+LMNOP alphabet.

I find it hard to speak about it without appearing a wild-eyed and feral. I just can’t vote Democrat any more. We desperately need an alternative. I find myself looking back at Abraham Lincoln and wondering if the Republican Party could be reformed. The Democratic Party certainly has, been re-formed so why not the Republicans? In the meantime I am homeless, but much more careful about who I vote for.

I’ve seen this sort of behaviour so often from people who believe three own hype. What happened to ‘when they go low, we go high’ and similar chants? Those Democrats did their party a disservice that day and it will not be forgotten.

Time for a die-in. Certain legislators have earned an embarrassing, all-afternoon, in-office protest.

Corinna- I admire your fight in this. You and I are the same age and when I learned that my heart stopped a beat. It made it even more real. My daughter is 22, slightly autistic, didn’t fit in until she found theater and GSA in high school and then was traumatized by COVID lockdowns, has attempted suicide and gotten worse from there. It is a living hell on steroids— or more accurately on testosterone. I want to find ways to help people like you in thins fight but don’t feel I have any qualifications other than being a mom trying to survive and keep her daughter alive. Thank you for what you do. I hope to meet you eventually.
